We were founded by three women in 2013. Three women who come from different backgrounds but have similar drive and passion. When fate (okay, fate and a lot of hustle and hard work) intervened, these three women formed Dagne Dover - a company aimed at making lives easier through empathy and good design. We do our best not to be jerks to Mother Earth, because we like her, and we know how important it is to leave less of a footprint. Every day we work on our commitment to becoming a more eco-friendly brand. Here’s a peek at some of the initiatives we’re most excited about.
Bye bye, dyes. AZO testing helps us make sure no hazardous chemicals end up in the dyes we use on the products you love. Simple as that.
Long proposition short, 65 ensures our products are non-toxic, and don’t cause harmful effects to people who use them (like, say, you).
We’re not all vegan, but we respect the hell out of it and are proud to share that most of our bags are now 100% vegan. Check out all of our vegan styles here.
We give a scrap. All of our excess scrap materials are used for sampling to minimize waste at our factories.
We hate waste. We’re also not big fans of clutter. Especially when it comes to our bags and landfills. So we’re doing something about it. In partnership with Archive, we’ve created Almost Vintage - an initiative that lets you buy and sell used Dagne Dover goods, encouraging eco-friendlier fashion and a happier Mama Earth.
We use Repreve® recycled material in all of our linings and dust bags, and have styles created entirely from of this durable, versatile material made from recycled plastic bottles (peep the Nova Sling Bag or our Puff collection). Compared to virgin fiber, Repreve® requires less water and energy and emits less greenhouse gases.
When we have excess inventory or returns, we donate them to charities like the Shelter Partnership of Los Angeles so that they can live a second (or third) life. We love the fact that our products find new homes and can go to those in need.
We believe that good design is everything. Like, everything. It’s sort of our mantra. From our materials to our process to our final product, everything is chosen and crafted for top-notch performance. And every little detail makes a big difference. We partner with creative makers all over the world who share this belief and help us bring our bags to life.
